A classic recipe from Newfoundland, a delicious chewy snowball! If you like coconut this is the cookie for you! Not only is it loaded with coconut inside, but you also roll it in a bath of coconut to finish it off and make it look like a “snowball”!

Makes: about 3-4 dozen (depending on ball size)
A classic recipe from Newfoundland that is loaded with coconut and chocolate! Chocolate Snowball Cookies are a must have for Christmas baking.
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup fine coconut
- coconut for rolling
In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, bring butter, sugar and milk to a boil
Allow to boil for about 5 minutes without stirring (should be at a rolling boil) while you let this boil mix together your rolled oats and coconut and set to the side
Add cocoa and remove from the heat
Add in coconut/oat mixture and stir to combine with the wet mixture
Let cool and roll ball in coconut to coat
