You will never need to buy a box of Bisquick again with this easy to make version! In fact, I recommend making a double batch and keeping in sealed containers or mason jars so you always have some on hand!
I use it to make my delicious Garlic Cheddar Biscuits as well as anytime we want to make a Quiche! You can even use it when making waffles, pancakes, pot pies and more. It is less expensive than the store bought mix and comes together in no time…your welcome!

Notes
Use in place of any recipe that calls for Bisquick! We use it in biscuits, pancakes, waffles, pot pies, quiche etc!
I had no idea that it was this easy to make your own bisquick mix! Definitely saving this to make myself a batch. Thank you!
You are so welcome! It is incredible how easy it is to mix, we love having it on hand for quick weeknight dinners!
Do you know if there is Olive Oil Shortening? I can’t imagine Crisco having any good for me quality’s for me.
Hi Deanna!! It is a vegetable base that is made with soybeans, however I do believe they have versions that are made with coconut oil if that is something you would prefer. I have not seen an olive oil version before…hope this helps!
I think this is simple enough for even a mediocre cook like me. Thanks, can’t wait to try it!
It sure is!!! It will make so many meals easier for you too!
This is beyond genius!!! Thanks so sharing 🙂
You are so welcome, it is a life changer!!!
I had no clue that you could make Bisquick! That is awesome, because I don’t always have it on hand.
That is why I wanted to share it, I often found myself with crumbles left in my Bisquick box and thought “there has to be a way!” ha!
What a great idea! Definitely much easier than one might think and made with all pantry staples – perfect!
It is awesome to have on hand and so easy to make, how could you not!?
This is seriously such a simple and easy recipe to assemble!..and we can make it in a jiffy instead of thinking we should only buy premixes!..thanks for sharing this useful post..
You are welcome! I hope it comes in handy for you and your family.
This is a great recipe. I never thought it was this easy to make bisquick at home. I am definitely making some this weekend.
Thanks Sandhya, enjoy!
Homemade is definitely the best way! I love making it at home and it’s so simple! Thanks for the recipe!
This looks like such a simple, but perfect staple! Thanks for sharing!
We always have it on hand, perfect for a quick weeknight Pot Pie!
This is a great recipe and so simple. Best part it has such a long shelf life. Now you never have to buy a box again. Plus nothing is better than homemade !! Perfect.
Yes!!! All the reasons and more as to why we love it!
This really genius idea, instead of buying store bought one loaded with preservative home made ones are best. fresh taste and make great pancakes.
Yes, it is so so easy to make and amazing to have on hand for a quick Sunday pancake party!
Thanks for sharing this one… I’ve been thinking I need to find a mix I can use instead of the store bought box. I don’t use it enough to justify that box sitting on my shelf and being able to mix up a smaller batch would be handy.
You are welcome Noel!! You can easily cut the recipe in half so you have just enough when you need it!
Such a great idea to make this yourself! And the recipe looks so easy. Love how simple it is!
This. Is. Fantastic! Lifesaving recipe for me. Really comes in helpful for biscuits and pancakes. I would even use this in my Sausage ball recipe. Love!
Oh yum sausage balls!!!? I would love to try them with this homemade Bisquick mix!
Who knew it was so easy to make?! Love this!
That’s all you need?? Okay, thank you, I am never buying Bisquick again. This is so easy!
You are so welcome!! It will be lifesaving, and I personally think it is even better than the original!
Bookmarking this as we always use store bought . Will make it soon.
Yes! You will never use the store bought jelly again…I promise!
I’d feel much better about using homemade bisquick mix than the boxed – gotta add this to my list!
It is a real game changer, you will never buy the boxed stuff again!
Now here’s a great way to save some $$! Have you tried making a whole grain version? I’m thinking whole wheat pastry flour would work here, or a half and half ration.
I have not tried it Catherine, but I think it would be just as good! Let me know if you mix up a batch so I can share an edit! 🙂
I make this all the time 🙂 It’s my basic baking mix. It’s so much better, too.
Such an easy recipe to have on hand! I can’t wait to make a big batch.
I had to look up Bisquick, I don’t think it’s very big here in Europe, although the packaging does look familiar, so it must be sold in our shops! I love the fact that you make your own, it would be so good as a foodie gift! Can you flavour it if giving as a gift, do you think?
Hi Azlin!! That is interesting, I guess it may be called something else over there (like how certain chocolate bars are different names too)! As for flavouring I guess it really depends on what you would be adding to it. If you are thinking of doing a foodie gift with it, maybe something fun like including some chocolate chips or a small container of maple syrup would be fun if you want to gift it as “premade pancakes”.
It’s always nice to have your own mixes in the pantry, whether it is a spice blend or a baking shortcut. People spend way too much money on premade things.
I couldn’t agree more! We love having this on hand for so many of our weeknight dishes!
I love this! I always buy bisquik but it’s probably better to just make it!
That’s great. I’ve never tried to make bisquick mix before, it would really helpful if you need to make it ahead of time.
