Easy Chocolate Fudge

An easy to make Chocolate Fudge Recipe with chopped pecans and decadent caramel – this recipe will leave you drooling for more after each bite!

Our first fudge recipe for this years Christmas Baking Frenzy is here, Chocolate Caramel Turtle Fudge!! The thing I love about a good chocolate fudge recipe is that it is so easy to make and even better to eat, and this one is no exception.

The decadent chocolate is wrapped around chunks of pecans and oozing caramel…I mean what more could you want in a fudge?

Chocolate Fudge

This simple turtle fudge is so much more than you could expect – I knew when I went into recipe development for this one that I wanted a rich fudge with a nice crunchy texture from the pecans. I also know how little time we have around the holidays so I made sure to keep this a MICROWAVE fudge too! Woohoo!

If you are looking for a delicious chocolaty fudge to add to your cookie trays this is definitely the one, it  only takes 5 minutes to prepare and uses just a few simple ingredients (you don’t even need to make the caramel sauce for this one…yes!!!).

So go ahead friends, I give you permission to make a double batch and keep one for yourself, after all it is the season for giving (and that includes to ourselves).

Frequently Asked Questions

Below are a few of the questions we’ve gotten over the years when making our fudge recipes – if you have one that isn’t listed be sure to leave us a comment so we can answer you!

How do you mix fudge?

When making any of our fudge recipes we like to use a sturdy wooden spoon for mixing. As the fudge heats up and you start adding in nuts it will get thick and difficult to stir so a plastic spatula won’t cut it!
I love the spoons I linked above – they have a scoop function to them which is awesome for when you put the fudge into your baking pan.

What happens if you cook fudge too long?

Well … it’s not good! Chocolate when cooked too long will become burnt and crumbly – if you’ve done it before you know what I am talking about.
The key to cooking your fudge is to stir frequently so you can see how the condensed milk and chocolate are combining. Once there are no visible chocolate chunks your fudge is good to go.

Should fudge be refrigerated?

This is really a personal preference and for me I always say YES! I love keeping fudge in the fridge, then when I cut a piece it lasts a little longer as it has to come up to temperature in my mouth first.
If you like your fudge to be room temperature just be sure to keep it well sealed and consume within a few days to ensure it is best quality!

What can you add to fudge?

The possibilities of what you can add to fudge are really endless. With this recipe we added chopped pecans and caramel sauce, but we have an entire round-up for you of incredible fudge recipes with a variety of mix ins (like peanut butter, marshmallows, jam, walnuts, cranberries, pistachios and so much more).

I just made this for a work Christmas party & can't wait to try it! I decided to put my pecans on the top (instead of stirred in the fudge) & added a little sea salt - my addiction to all chocolate & caramel things! ;-)
